A Reflection From our Life in Uganda:

Living in Uganda has been a season where God is teaching us to slow down and see people the way He sees them.

Many of the children and teenagers we spend time with carry stories of loss, pain, and abandonment. At times, it can feel overwhelming because we know that we cannot fix their past or change their circumstances overnight.

But God has been reminding us that transformation often begins in small, faithful moments. Sitting with a child, listening to their story, laughing together during a game, or praying with a teenager who is struggling—these simple moments are where God begins to work deeply in hearts.

He is teaching us that ministry is not about doing something big or impressive, but about being present and loving people the way Christ loves us. Many times, the most powerful thing we can do is simply show up again the next day, reminding these children that they are not forgotten and that their lives have value.

Throughout this time, God is also shaping our own hearts. He is teaching us patience, compassion, and deeper dependence on Him. We are learning that real change does not come from our strength or our ideas, but from God working in ways that we cannot always see. Our prayer is that the children and teenagers here will grow to know that they are deeply loved—not only by the people around them, but by a Father who sees them, knows their story, and has a purpose for their lives. We are constantly reminded that God is working in all of us, shaping hearts of clay into something beautiful for His glory.

FAMILY GROUPS

These groups were created with the intention that every child would receive personal attention and experience a family-like environment where they can feel that they belong, that they are valued, loved, and cared for. Each missionary is assigned a group of children who become their Family Group. This allows missionaries to intentionally invest in the lives of those children on a regular basis, providing a loving and safe space where they can grow and develop. It is beautiful to see the kids look forward to the day they will spend time with their Family Group. While it is a blessing for the kids, we often feel that the greater blessing is ours, because God allows us the joy of spending time with them.

SMALL GROUPS

One of the main goals for this year is the spiritual growth of the Children’s Home staff. To help with this, the staff has been divided into small groups that meet once a week for a Bible study. All of the groups are reading the same book, which keeps everyone connected in the same spiritual journey. These meetings are not only a space for spiritual growth but also an opportunity to strengthen unity among the staff. It has been encouraging to see how committed they are—many of them do not want to miss even one chapter. We truly believe that by investing in the lives of the staff, we are also indirectly investing in the lives of the children they care for every day.

TEENS CLUB

Teens Club is a space where the youth can build friendships, strengthen their faith, and develop leadership rooted in Jesus. Our goal is to help create a united family of believers who reflect Christ through their character, love, and leadership. Through games, conversations, and Bible teaching, we want the teenagers to grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Our mission is to create a Christ-centered environment where the youth of the Children’s Home learn to love deeply, live with integrity, and lead like Jesus. As they grow in their faith, we pray that God will raise up the next generation of Christian leaders among them.

MEDICAL TRAINING

Twice a month, the staff of the Children’s Home participates in medical training sessions. The goal of these trainings is to equip them with basic medical knowledge and practical skills that will help them better care for the children in their daily lives. These trainings focus on essential health awareness, early response, and practical guidance for common situations. It is a valuable opportunity for the caregivers to grow in confidence and preparedness as they continue their important work of caring for the children.

We want to take a moment to thank all of you who are part of this ministry. Your prayers, encouragement, and support make it possible for us to be here and invest in the lives of these children and teenagers. Many of the things we shared in past newsletters, as well as this newsletter, are happening because you are standing with us.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing here and for walking alongside us. We are deeply grateful for each one of you, and we pray that the Lord continues to bless you as you partner with us in His work.
